Tuning into the Uni-Verse

Back to the Basics

Music is a very ancient art form. It can provoke supernatural energies, profound experiences, the whole spectrum of emotions, innovative ways of self-expression, and books that have written extensively of countless other notable effects of music.. As for the musician, it's quite a magi when done competently, altho yes we can definitely take a second to note that it works both ways, negatively & positively, which is why the powers that with they'd be are... When music is aligned to Natty Law, things tend to groove better Think of yourself as a unique eternal signature, sound, song, frequency of god, or the creator, or the singularity whence all life manifested from.

AwakenYaMind

Derek Bartolacelli has cultivated a unique variety of truth-infused tapestries of music centered around conscious hip hop under his DJ moniker AwakenYaMind since 2012. Born and raised around the SF Bay Area in the 80s & 90s, he developed a love for underground hip hop, spoken word and slam poetry, which all reflect compelling, raw, refined, and passionate forms of expression. After moving to France for marriage in 2010, a crisis of consciousness, health & calls for self-improvement had him fiercely determined to go down whatever paths of awareness, which eventually led to some kundalini-type awakenings/activations on a bodily, vibratory and spiritual level that forever changed his life frequency. While still getting acclimated to all sorts of occulted (hidden) and lesser-known knowledge, he took into account many songs he knew of that referenced and confirmed such inklings and truths, which sparked the idea to portray an organized array of songs and quotes from people like Manly P Hall, narrowing in on specific topics or themes geared towards expanding awareness and motivating the hearts & minds of people. Aligned with Natural Law, Morality, and the higher sciences of spirituality, he continues learning more and cultivating better ways to express them. He's recently combined forces with Leslie Powers in creating a wonderful new platform called Dissolving The Divide, where they dive into any and all subjects which cause division in aiming to bridge the gaps in any way we can with fantastic guests.

Top 10 Natty Law Album List by AwakenYaMind

Azeem & Variable Unit - Mayhem Mystics (2004)
Azeem is one of my all time favorite lyricists with his slam poetryesque style and thoughtprovoking penmanship. This album was a game-changer, as it opened up the spiritual vistas within me in the early 2000's and planted many conscious seeds, but also quite literally shook me up to be living more in alignment with Natural Law (I may have just considered it karma at the time) and really look into the esoteric things he wove in his masterclass writings. It was at a time in my life where I was getting into trouble with the law and building up some bad karmic debt, so it was music like this that inspired & motivated me to break outta those negative cycles I was creating for myself. It took me years to really understand all he was saying and portraying, and guess what, it's so deep that I still don't fully understand all his references! haha.. I've focalized a few mixes in the past around tracks from this album.. One of them in recent years being my epic audio-visual mega-mix titled MA'AT ☥ The Scales of Judgement ~ Karmic Law Hip Hop Mix & Video ((432Hz)) that runs for an exact 1hr 44 minutes & 44 seconds. "Hearts weighed on a scale next to feathers.." i still get chills when I hear that verse! (from the song Seals). Their song Birthright First was featured in 2 mixes (Natural Law Initiation & The Ecocide documusical), as it's so powerful & important regarding our equal rights as sentient beings and our right to defend our rights by all means necessary! A conscious call to act upon that and also defend the rights to freely access nature in the face of satanic corporate/gov greed, corruption & control. This album stands quite firmly on Eternal Principles! Variable Unit is a dope jazzhop (live instrumentation) crew including DJ Zeph who all combine and create very rich melodic soundscapes. Very captivating to say the least! I love their other albums they have on their own- a really cool instrumental blend of jazz, funk, hip hop, electronica, and a few pleasant surprise appearances by Azeem.. They put out a B-sides to their classic album Mayhem Mystics and I'm so grateful for them all coming together and creating such a monumental masterpiece! I always wish artists like them kept collaborating in making more magic!

Scienz of Life - Coming Forth By Day: Book of The Dead (2000)
This album is classic East Coast gold! A great counterpart to A Book of Human Language, but more spiritual, esoteric, hermetic and mystic- taking us back to some of the ancient teachings outta Kemet! This is one of my favorite hip hop crews with Lil Sci (John Robinson) standing out with his signature voice and smooth lyrics. They were an inspiration for me to use the term "The Science of Life" when talking about Natural Law, since it is a science and we need to study it correctly to properly align our life to the ways the Universe operates. So much of this album has been dispersed in many music mixes in the past, especially when it comes to speaking about the First Cosmic Law Principle of Mentalism, as they had 2 outstanding tracks delving into the workings of the mind- the mind of man kind & the cosmos! From Ghettos to Galaxies!

Nu Vision Project - The Holy Science (2019)
Another classic album that serves as an audio encyclopedia to eclectic esoteric Hermetic kinetic metaphysics, philosophies & spirituality. It was an instant classic when I first heard it and immidiately bought it.. Cuz we should support these artists.. Many artist's music is free on youtube, spotify, etc, but that ain't paying the bills for them. I see those platforms like a library: we can check stuff out for free, even steal it and never give it back, but to do the moral thing would be to buy the album like in the pre-internet days right? I do not have a ton of info on these guys, but I know at least the emcee (possibly the producer too) is from Vendetta Kingz; a dope group that I somehow slept on for way too long. Quite the transcendentalist, epistemologist & magician.. One of the only emcees I ever heard throw out the name Trismagistus! Hermetic Poetic Heroics in this effort all around! I bought this album around the time it came out and was totally impressed by the depth of the art, production & lyrics.. Leveled-up conscious music at some of its finest with these artists!

Hypnotic The Native Son - Internal Symmetry: Ori Inu (1998)
From the West Coast Bay Area collective, Kemetic Sons, and half of Ka Auditron Ba, we have Hypnotic The Native Son, who later went by Chris Sinister. Some of these songs light a fire in my heart: that fire of care, sacred masculine, conviction, inspiration and righteous indignation.. Listening to this is like testing out some spiritual armor.. This album is from that extra special golden era in the Bay Area where there was so many dope artists around, it was pretty impossible to keep track during the heightened era of the 4trak! Hypnotic has a powerful voice with so much wisdom beyond his years poured into this incredible album, which may have been before its time.. I dunno cuz I didn't know about it until around 10 years after it dropped!? It's also a shame that he only released one solo album as far as I'm aware of. Nothing I hold against any artist, I'm always grateful for their efforts, and being a victim to your success, more is demanded from you, but it's never an obligation for any artist to cater/feel forced to continue making music.

Goddess Alchemy Project - Frequencies of The Motherland (2008)
This glorious group of females released a much needed album in the hip hop community to evoke that divine feminine energy into the mix! These talented women showcased such a sweet blend of lyricism, singing, Hermetic & Kemetic teachings & incantations over worldly melodic soundscapes- it feels cinematic when listening to it as they whisk you away to ancient lands full of conscious vibes. To simply describe them a different way, think of a female version of Bone Thugs & Harmony if they were dipped in ayahuasca. haha.. Their voices speak to my soul on many levels and that divine feminine essence has a special resonance for me that inspires my eternal flame. They had so much potential, I was sadly shocked to learn they only put out one album, which will stand the test of time like the pyramid featured on the cover. I love the 4 of them and how they flow together as a unit, individually and playing off one another- I don't know if I've heard anything like it before.. You tell me cuz I'd really like to know now that I think about it.. When's the last time you heard 4 conscious femcees combining forces to produce a stellar classic album that lives up to the name Goddess Alchemy Project!?

Joe Murray - Liberty or Death (2019)
One of the very very few rappers who understand the connection & grammar of anarchy & Natural Law. Real Freedom under objective morality, not mental, emotional, financial & physical slavery under government, oligarchs & dark occultocracy! And yes, being that blunt, cut & dry about it.. We don't have to beat around the bush or use secret slang to get vital messages of truth out to people, especially at this point of societal insanity.. Let's help those who need to understand these things learn about it in clear simple terms for them to even get what it is you want them to understand.. So I appreciate Joe's more hardcore approach, evoking that sacred masculine energy & the warrior spirit! He's kind of like a mix between Immortal Technique & Mark Passio if that makes any sense to people who know them, haha, if you don't you should look them up.. Joe Murray also linked up with DISL Automatic a few years ago and dropped some heavy hitting songs, including one made for the Freedom Under Natural Law (FUNL) Conference where he also presented his knowledge, research & sentiments.. The fine folks who organize FUNL invited me on last year actually and I have strengthened friendships with many there and was hanging out with a few of them in California.. Like most of that crew, he's also a member of The One Great Work Network and close friend of James Cordiner who collaborated together in creating their own online conference, Shattering The Illusion, where they, and a dozen other truth speakers presented some great information, philosophy, dialectics to dissect and of course, that Natty Law! Joe's been putting out music & podcasts you can find on his website, which is chalked full of info & videos about Natural Law & truth-related topics.

Audiopharmacy - Spare Change (2006)
One of my favorite all time music groups. I love what they all bring to the table in there eclectic collective! many live instruments used in their beat production and overall live performances.. Hailing from San Jose where their initial crew was called Kaotic Souls and were collaborating with other cool conscious Bay Area cats like Def Juice & Nomadic Mind Travelrs.. I was honestly heartbroken when I learned about them much later in my life, cuz I thought I knew the majority of the underground crews from that golden era in the Bay, but I was quite wrong, and I wasn't in pain due to being wrong about it, it was due to feeling like I missed out on their music enriching my life earlier on in my stages of maturation. So what I did was actually contact Teo Sense, their main producer, and express my gratitude for their groups existence. I also asked him to sell me virtually all their music they got, and they had a very sweet deal at the time, and possibly still may some way.. So he responded and was very cool with me and made sure he'd hook me up and no problem with sending the goods oversees to France. Their whole approach in what they do & speak about is pure spirituality- no religious dogma, no, we're talking about animism and more specifically the sacred teachings of Native American tribes like the Hopi they reference. It would not be accurate to categorize this group into a single or hyphenated genre(s), as they're more than hip hop, world, jazz, folk, native, conscious, abstract, etc.. They are exactly what their name is- holistic healing musical medicine, Audiopharmacy- check out their melodic prescriptions!

Conspirituality (self titled) [2009]
Back when I was only aware of a small handful of conscious Canadian artists, Jemeneye & Sons of Zadok Joined forces to release a massive double album under the name Conspirituality! Almost seemed unprecedented at that time, being blatantly open about what they're gonna be rapping about: conspiracies & spirituality, the name speaks for itself, but not everyone'll understand it.. We gotta keep the context of the times in mind since back then, youtube wasn't nearly as popular/populated, especially with tons of conspiracy channels and truth speakers broadcasting regularly today.. I first heard their music around 2017 or so, where I was in full stride on producing my conscious hip hop mixes and hearing these brothers just felt like a celebration, as I was calling out to the universe for more artists to feature who got genuine ways of expressing Cosmic Law, philosophy, 3rd eye vision etc., so having them in the mix added some extra depth to some of my projects.

Illuminati Congo - Health Wealth Knowledge of Self (2016)
A superb 'life lessons' album! Focusing on spiritual hygiene, diet, karma, animism, and exercise for the mind body spirit. Another high quality group who do more than just music, they've been teaching what they rap about more in depth on their youtube channel.. They got some interesting pieces to the puzzle for sure! Masterful lyrics articulating Natty Law & spirituality in clever, simple, mature, clear and concise ways.. Yea they can get quite mystic & intricate too, but I noticed their beats and lyrics just always seem to come out on point, especially this album.. This is another crew I found out about many years later after they've been established and at this point y'all notice a pattern here and I need to say something about it real quick.. Ever get that rude awakening from a dope artist you slept on for years!? Like it's almost painful to realize how you never heard of those profound sounds before.. "How could this be possible" you yell while weeping to the overwhelming joy of discovering such magical music! haha, it's bittersweet sometimes, but c'est la vie.. Just enjoy & appreciate the new company of sounds that accompany your journey in life for the better.

Pep Love - Ascension (2001)
Easily the most spiritual member out of the monumental Hieroglyphics crew, Pep Love released this classic album that went way over my head during that time- not all of it, but I didn't know shit about ascension, metaphysics and the workings of the Law of One. Subconsciously to a degree, which is why I held albums like this at high value- obviously I still do, which brings up a great point to finish this top ten list.. This is proof that, what him and many others write about, are indeed timeless and still as relevant today as it was when they first wrote/spoke it- sometimes it's even more pertinent to today than before.. That's magic! And Pep Love brings that & so much soul to this project out of a crew that didn't get too deep into spirituality outside of their classic 3rd Eye Vision album that had a few tracks that were deep, and low & behold, Pep Love seemed to be the driving force behind them, like one of my favorite tracks in there "One Life One Love- tell me this, are you prepared to live? Energy that we exchange is imperative, intricate so simple, life is the spirit & the body is the temple.. One Life, One Love!"

Honorable Mention: Aceyalone & Mumbles - A Book of Human Language (1998)
Aceyalone & Mumbles connect to put out one of the most epic hip hop albums of the late '90's! A Book of Human Language is exactly that, but much more, serving as one of those hitchhiker's guide to life.. The beats and track layouts were something I haven't really seen before at that time.. Back in 2007 this album, and the instrumental side of the disk were in heavy rotation for me and I still have stark memories of listening to it on my semi- smartphone on the bus lines cruising around San Diego.

Honorable Mention: Dj Drez - Capture of Sound (2003)
This album blew my mind! I was already a big fan of him for years before he dropped this masterpiece featuring a bunch of familiar artists and class acts of unfamiliar one's that al blended so well.. DJ Drez is one of my all time favorite deejays.. I never tried to copy his style, I was influenced by him undeniably so, but if you understand what him & I have done is different, as I focused on the messages in the music as the main focus around a specific topic or issue.. He focused on fusing melodies in profound ways that speak to the soul.

Honorable Mention: Bicasso - Living Life Looking Out (2001)
He is arguably my favorite emcee out of the Living Legends crew, which has insanely steep competition of talent I love. This album is another great tapestry of acting as a 'life-guide'. The Rhythm of Life is a prime example of that. He's a great story teller, painter, beatmaker & lyricist who illustrates vivid streams of consciousness & Imagination in many ways..

Honorable Mention: Source of Labor - Word Sound Power (1997)
This collective was criminally slept on and features one of the dopest femcees I've ever heard: Beyond Reality. Word Sound Power for the Mind Body Soul big time in this cool compilation style album that includes their whole family of musicians.

Honorable Mention: Blackaliscious - Gift of Gab- 4th Dimensional Rocket Ship (2004)
R.I.P. to one of the all-time greats. To me it's not an opinion. Gift of Gab owned up to that name & damn near changed the game!

Honorable Mention: Definite Juice - Agriculture (2000)
This album is one of a kind and features some beloved super underground artists where they go on some epic 7-10 minute songs! I recently made a lil video safari cruising thru this album that was inspired by the tracks in there titled Ismael, which is refenecing that classic book.. My crew, The One Great Work Warriors had a round table discussion about the book Ismael and drew some great points out aboout it and some of the correlations to Natural Law..

Honorable Mention: Ultraman (self titled) [1999]
The only album ever put out from this man? This is one of those diamonds in the rough obscure west coast underground. A Universal Language Taught Regardless Of The Animosity Of Man! That's a cool acronym right? haha, and he stays true to that throughout this journey of a good'ol 4track tape.

Honorable Mention: Thawfor – Where Thawght Is Worshiped (2001)
This man sounds like 2pac if he had a kundalini awakening! haha, in a sense, but he's got that deep powerful voice with a cadence that compliments it. Thawfor is very thoughtful and produced some epic soul spark songs that are profound beyond words.

Honorable Mention: El*A*kwents - A Human Becoming (2015)
This is a great album and concept. A lot of great songs in spoken with conviction & wisdom. This artist seems to have read some great books about the Law of One, spiritual principles and Vedic teachings.. It's always great to hear artists learning about these things and relaying the teachings through their lyrics.
